In January 2009, Jones Day opened a new office in Mexico City through a combination with top-tier Mexico City law firm De Ovando y Martínez del Campo, S. C., with whom Jones Day has collaborated for over 20 years on matters both in Mexico and internationally. The new office concentrates on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance and infrastructure transactions, as well as real estate and capital markets.

Our presence in Latin America furthers our ability to advise U.S., European, and Asian clients with their inbound investments into the region as well as counseling Latin American companies in their international operations and capital markets activities.

De Ovando y Martínez del Campo, S.C. was founded in 1984 in Mexico City, with an emphasis on legal services in the corporate area. As Mexico grew into an economy of greater sophistication, the firm also grew and gained a well-regarded reputation in the finance, securities, foreign investment, and tax fields both in Latin America and internationally. By the 1990s it had grown into a full-service corporate law firm.
