Jones Day’s historic relationships over the past 20 years on a variety of matters in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East naturally led to the opening of our Dubai Office in 2009.  Located in the heart of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), our Dubai, United Arab Emirates office is strategically positioned in this increasingly vital economic center of the world to more readily and efficiently serve the needs of our Middle Eastern clients with their international operations and activities, as well as our global clients with their Gulf Region matters and investments.

Our lawyers resident in Dubai have significant and substantial international experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, private equity, energy, finance, real estate, and litigation and arbitration.  Our Dubai Office also is able to give legal advice on the local laws of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates, making Jones Day one of the very few global firms qualified to advise on all areas of U.A.E. law.  As an integral part of the Jones Day One Firm Worldwide network, which consists of over 2,500 lawyers across 32 offices in 16 countries and 5 continents, our clients in the Middle East are afforded not only an international reach, but also seamless access to substantial legal resources wherever needed around the globe.  For example, our Dubai lawyers have been retained by major local entities to represent them in international litigation disputes, and for their corporate and finance work across the region and globally.  Likewise, the Firm's long-standing institutional clients with global operations have expanded their work with us to include advising on local UAE law.

Although Jones Day has just recently opened its Dubai Office, our lawyers have already begun to infuse the Firm’s commitment to public service into our efforts in the region.  Within the first few weeks of opening, our lawyers and staff were responsible for starting a recycling program in an office space that previously had none.  Our new presence in Dubai gives us a new and expanded opportunity to continue our reputation for giving back to the communities where we work and live.
