In Sydney we run a Summer Clerkship program and in Brisbane we run Winter and Summer Clerkship programs. In Sydney, the program is 8 weeks and in Brisbane, each clerkship is 4 weeks. Clerks spend their time developing their legal and commercial skills. They enjoy the benefits of our non-rotational training system, providing the opportunity to work across various practices.

Clerks work with graduates, associates, and partners, engaging in a wide variety of tasks including drafting transactional documents, conducting research, attending court hearings, writing opinions, and learning about the mechanics of closing a deal.

Clerks have the benefit of training sessions and seminars that provide insight into the mechanics of legal practice, as well as the substantive legal work that we do at Jones Day. Mentors and supervising partners are assigned to summer clerks to guide them through their clerkships and assist with their career development.

The Melbourne and Perth offices accept applications for casual Paralegal positions throughout the year. To apply for Paralegal opportunities in Melbourne or Perth send your cover letter, CV and academic transcript to or
