2 Year Paralegal Apprenticeship

You will have one day a week to study and attend classes at BPP University Law School.

Your 5 study modules for the Paralegal Apprenticeship and the Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education are: Introduction to Practice; English Legal System & Research; Contract Law (the chosen area of Law Jones Day recommends for its apprentices); a Chosen Area of Law; and Client Care. In addition, the work based learning module - Professional Practice Skills – which integrates examples of your work at the Firm, runs throughout the programme.

You will submit a portfolio of workplace evidence and undertake timed written and/or oral assessments at the end of each module and at the end of the 2 year programme to meet the requirements for both the Paralegal Apprenticeship and the Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education.

5 Year Solicitor Apprenticeship 

If you continue onto the Solicitor Apprenticeship, you will have one day a week to study and attend classes at BPP University Law School.

You will take exams and assessments throughout the 5 year programme to meet the requirements for the LLB (Hons) Law Degree. You will also build a portfolio of workplace experience and tasks you have completed at the Firm to demonstrate you have met the Statement of Solicitor Competence required by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and to achieve the Solicitor Apprenticeship Standard. You will also need to pass the Solicitors’ Qualification Exam (SQE) consisting of two parts and satisfy the SRA’s checks as to character and suitability in order to qualify as a solicitor.

Study at BPP and Learn at Work with Jones Day

Your courses will all be delivered via a blend of “live” online tutorials and face to face classes at BPP University Law School, independent study and on-the-job learning at Jones Day.

In addition to your dedicated Jones Day mentors, BPP will also provide you with a skills development coach and apprenticeship manager to support you in your studies and assessments and assist you with your portfolio of workplace evidence.
