Paralegal

Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Within the team of paralegals of our corporate department, assist lawyers with the framework of a portfolio of listed and non-listed companies (SA, SAS, SARL, SNC, SCI, GIE, Associations) or the execution of capital-intensive operations, restructuring, external growth or financing. This mission will include the following tasks: drafting of the social documentation relating to the daily life of the companies (approval of the annual accounts) or to the realization of specific operations (increases / reductions of capital, issues of securities, constitution, dissolution, liquidation, merger, partial contributions of assets or sale of business funds), keeping social records, fulfillment and follow-up of legal formalities, and conducting legal audits (review of corporate documents and drafting of the corresponding sections of the audit report).
Specialization: Company Law (unlisted and, ideally, listed).

Required Qualifications:

  • Legal Education in French Law.
  • 3 years' experience as a paralegal, ideally acquired in a business law firm.
  • Fluent in French and English.

Proposals Manager (EU)

Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Working as part of the global Business Acquisition Unit (“BAU”), the Proposals Manager will be based in Jones Day’s Paris or London office and will be responsible for RFP responses, proposals, and pitches, primarily in Europe, but sometimes for other regions. This will include managing, writing, and delivering high-value RFP responses, proposals, pitches, and capability statements that will, in turn, reinforce the Jones Day brand, retain existing clients, and help win new work for the Firm. The Proposals Manager must be able to fluently speak, write and read English (bilingual capability is highly preferred). Standard office hours, although occasional night and weekend work may be required. The Proposals Manager is expected to perform all job duties with a commitment to providing superior service to clients, producing quality work products, and maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. Above all, the Proposals Manager must fulfill the needs of the Firm in a manner which is consistent with the Firm’s visions and values.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral communication and business writing/editing skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and respond to changing priorities.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork, able to establish effective working relationships across regional, practice, and Firm lines.
  • Four-year college degree, advanced degree (MBA, MA, MS, JD) a plus; minimum five years of experience in a business and/or professional services environment (preferably as a dedicated proposals professional); minimum two years of experience in the legal environment preferred.
  • Proficient in English.

Technology Support Services (TSS) Office Specialist  

 

Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Technology Support Services Office Specialist is responsible for end-user support, managing desktops, laptops, and smart phones, installing and activating said devices, troubleshooting of defective or inoperable devices or components, and ongoing support of equipment to provide optimal performance; troubleshoot end-user functional ("how to") and general technical questions, document-related problems and software issues. The Technology Support Services Office Specialist is responsible for maintaining software inventories and departmental records. The Technology Support Services Office Specialist is expected to perform all job duties with a commitment to providing superior service to clients, producing quality work products, and maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. Above all, the Technology Support Services Office Specialist must fulfill the needs of the Paris Office in a manner which is consistent with the Firm’s visions and values.

Required Qualifications:

  • University-level degree, certification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in computer-related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of personal computer hardware architecture and applications.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform in positions of responsibility, preferably in a legal environment.
  • Advanced skills with MS Office.
  • Familiarity with supporting Lotus Notes, Interwoven, Blackberry and Citrix.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to exchange defective and inoperable components.
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to listen, work directly with lawyers and staff, answer phones, document problems, and speak and write in terms easily understood.
  • Aptitude for learning new software products.
  • Proficient in English and French
