Business Development and Communications Manager

Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Manager, Business Development & Communications – Tokyo (“BD&C Manager”) is responsible for ensuring that business development, marketing, and communications initiatives of the Tokyo Office are integrated and consistent with the Firm’s strategies and policies. The BD&C Manager ensures that all such activities are compliant with Firm policies and procedures and reinforces with the lawyers and the BD&C staff the Firm’s vision and policies. The BD&C Manager will also promote integration of the business development efforts of the Tokyo office and work with the Partner in Charge to improve client development opportunities. The BD&C Manager is expected to perform all job duties with a commitment to providing superior service to clients, producing work product of the highest quality, and fostering an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. The BD&C Manager is responsible for the direction and supervision of office BD&C staff in the Tokyo office and for collaboration with the other BD&C team, including working with global, centralized teams providing pitch, directories, media relations and events support. Above all, the BD&C Manager must fulfill the needs of the Firm in a manner which is consistent with its visions, values and policies and promote the brand messages of the Firm.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business or similar.
  • Minimum eight years of business development experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience within professional services.
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
  • Japanese language skills required.

Technology Support Manager

Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Technology Support Manager is responsible for the technical and operational oversight and support of the Firm’s hardware and software systems as well as the management of the Technology Support Services (TSS) Department. The Technology Support Manager is expected to demonstrate initiative, set priorities, ensure timely and accurate completion of assignments, and ensure compliance with Firm and Office policies and procedures. The Technology Support Manager is also required to maintain expertise in the tasks and services provided by the TSS Department and to work on tasks assigned to the department.

Required Qualifications:

  • A highly developed and practical sense of law firm technology requirements, including end-user and client needs.
  • Position requires a four year college degree preferably in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Bilingual or multilingual – must be proficient in English and Japanese.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a computer-related field.
