Compensation

Consistent with its position as a premier global law firm, Jones Day offers salary packages competitive within individual geographic markets. Associate compensation is reviewed annually in connection with our comprehensive evaluation process. Salary determinations are based upon merit, considering an individual's total contribution to the Firm, individual development, and effectiveness.

Starting Salaries for New Lawyers*

$170,000 Cleveland, Columbus, Detroit, Minneapolis

$180,000 Pittsburgh

$190,000 Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Irvine, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Diego, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Washington

*Summer Associates are compensated pro rata based on the New Lawyer starting salary.
